FlightTurf® Applications
Developed for airfields including areas both inside and outside airport operations, FlightTurf® has many applications. These include roadsides, utility transmission corridor rights-of-way, golf courses, parks, lawns, campuses, cemeteries and other low traffic areas where wildlife control, reduced maintenance, and short turf grass are desirable outcomes.
Airfields
Using FlightTurf® reduces wildlife presence, especially bird strikes, because its unique patented mix of grasses yields a turf that is not a food source and has no appeal to animals. Benefits include improved runway safety and FOD (foreign object debris) management.
Solar Arrays
FlightTurf® is a method of vegetation management under solar arrays that reduces the need for mowing, provides soil stabilization and improves array efficiency.
Orchards & Vineyards
FlightTurf® is a formulation of fine fescue grasses that form dense sod that naturally reduces weed growth and minimizes the need for herbicides in orchards and vineyards. Additionally, this seed composition deters geese, deer and other animals transmitting diseases like Lyme disease through ticks.
Golf Courses
FlightTurf® reduces the presence of Canada Geese wherever it is used on and around golf courses. It particularly reduces the potential for algae formation and need for mowing on water hazard borders and rough areas.
